Project 365 Update

You may have noticed that I've changed the way I'm updating this blog.  Honestly, I've been considering just closing down the whole thing and asking anyone interested to follow along on Flickr (or Ravelry, or one of the two blogs I still actually update), since I never write anything here, any more, but... I guess I'll leave it alone for now.

I'm still trying to take photos for Project 365, though I've missed another day here and there and just taken "make-up photos" to fill in the gaps.  Now that I'm a month behind posting the photos, though, I'm going to take an easy route to catching up. To save time and trouble, I'll just share the photos through Flickr's built-in sharing function.  The result isn't as pretty as if I took the trouble to post them as I had been doing, but it sure is a lot easier.  If you want to see the photos larger, I recommend just heading over to Flickr to do so.  (These latest photos should have links, and there's always the link in the sidebar, of course.)

...That's all.  Back to our regularly scheduled never-posting-anything-but-photos.

99/365 - Seeds

99/365 - Seeds

We'll try to plant a few seeds, this year.  We probably should have gotten them started earlier, but there's plenty of growing season ahead.

A beautiful spring evening...

We've started putting drywall on the ceiling of the garage.  Here's Donald securing a sheet while the handy lift holds it in place.

Gorgeous weather.  Blue skies and puffy white clouds.

94/365 - Zesty Oven Fries

The toaster oven is convenient for things like our oven-baked fries. (Yummy.) It's especially nice in the summer. No need to heat up the whole oven for baking small things (and we can even take it outside to avoid heating up the house).

The loropetalum has put on quite a show this year!

Generic "springtime" photo to fill in for the photo I forgot to take yesterday...  Everything is greening up nicely!

91/365 - Working on the Garage

91/365 - Working on the Garage

We're working on insulating the garage.  (The tape is just to hold the insulation in place temporarily, until we can put up the drywall.)

There are a few more photos of the garage on Flickr, and we'll be sure to take more when there's more progress to show.

A bird's nest in one of the birch trees near the shed at the back of the yard...

89/365 - Clematis

89/365 - Clematis

This is one of three clematis vines my mother gave me from her garden a year or two ago.  I haven't had the best of luck with clematis, in the past, but so far (knock on wood) these are hanging in there.

(And a bonus photo of the same flower one day later...)

Enjoying some time on the bed before someone ruins the fun by announcing that it's time for the inevitable "Night-Night Walk with Molly".

87/365 - Bee Trap

87/365 - Bee Trap

Carpenter bees are real pests around our yard, so this year we've made a couple of traps for them-- one for the patio and one for the shed.  We've caught quite a few bees already.

86/365 - Thread Crochet

86/365 - Thread Crochet

Thread crochet feels like such an indulgent hobby, which is funny, because you get so many hours of entertainment from a single ball of cotton thread.

85/365 - Tidy

85/365 - Tidy

This is actually a make-up photo.  I forgot to take one for this day, so I took two the next day.  It's an accurate representation of the missed day, though, because that was the day I finally tidied up the dressing table.  Most of my collection of little trinket boxes went into a shallow drawer cleared out for the purpose.  Maybe I'll rotate them to put different ones out on display, every so often.  Most likely, I'll never bother...  I much prefer this less cluttered look. Maybe I'll be able to keep it dusted, now.

84/365 - "No photos, please!"

84/365 - "No photos, please!"

This is one of the "neighbor cats", Mr. Fat.  I'm pretty sure he's the one who doesn't like the camera... In any case, he ran away when he saw ours.

Wood sorrel (both yellow and pink) is another common wildflower around here.

82/365 - Electricity, Part 3

82/365 - Electricity, Part 3

The "pre-drywall" electric work was completed on this day.  Here you can see the wiring ready for a security light on the outside of the garage.

81/365 - Electricity, Part 2

81/365 - Electricity, Part 2

The second day of electric work.  They started pulling the wire throughout the garage and buried the conduit connecting the line to the house.
